Symbolic Oneirism :: 1982-2004
Oil paintings on canvas designed and produced between 1982 and 2004, according to the traditional technique of oil on canvas, in successive layers, fat on thin, which means a long drying period (in fact, oxidation) of the layers. The preparation being sometimes spread over several months, sometimes several years, the 24 paintings which are gathered here belong to a single confused temporality.

Artist Insight
The places of design and realization have been multiple and divided between the far south of Spain, the south-east of France and the north of Germany, between 1982 and 2004. Simple flashes of inspiration or long maturation of an original impression, these images have in common only one and surrealist topic: they are self sufficiant and each one carry a quiet and timeless message that my own unconscious addresses to the unconscious of the audience.
They are symbolic images, in the meaning that the elements which compose them, detached of their usual environment, and mean far more than the sense which is to them generally allotted.
Oneirism, owing to the fact of this hidden meaning, different from the Tarot, is not directed by an interpretation of traditional or esoteric base. The elements and their layout rise from pure intuition of the author, selected and laid out according to free associations of idea without intervention of the conscious analysis. Because of the way of that one perceives the scenes in the dreams, these images present an hyperrealist aspect but still can be interpreted according to the sensitivity of the onlooker.
These paintings have no predefined meaning but are nonetheless "speaking" for those who allow themselves to switch to their own reverie, and lets go to appreciate the different atmospheres.
